Brent Paul Whiting Born August 14, 1963 in Boise Idaho Passed May 23, 2020 in Vancouver Washington Brent was born to LeRoy "Roy" Merrill Whiting and LaVerda "Birdie" Hodges Whiting, the fifth of six children. He was in the Boy Scouts of America, and attended Koelsch Grade School, Fairmont Junior High, and Capital High School where he graduated in 1981. He was an incredible friend to Scott Hadley and Randy Rouse. They were quite the trio, like the three amigos. Always together and in some kind of mild mischief. They would ride their bikes all over Boise, the Greenbelt, and out to Lucky Peak, taking hills and mountains with ease. He married Lynette Bushman in 1984 and later divorced. They had four sons together: Blair, Lane, Logan, and Porter. He was a hardworking man and owned his own finish carpentry business for many years. Brent took great pride in the quality of his work, often putting in extra hours to achieve perfection. He later became a truck driver in the northwest, working for Frito Lay, where he loved his work. Brent loved the great outdoors, hunting, camping, and fishing. His prize possession was his Jeep that he loved to take out on adventures in the mountains and on the beaches in Washington. Brent had an amazing sense of humor and could do incredibly funny voices and impressions of famous characters. He had such a kind and giving heart, he would help anyone and everyone that he could. He was acutely aware of others' needs and would go out of his way to provide for their comfort. Brent enjoyed cooking and making up his own recipes. He loved to try different food from all over the world and experience the flavors. He loved a good steak, Thai food, and anything hot and spicy. He also enjoyed sampling various kinds of Root Beers. Brent was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Boise Idaho Temple. Brent is survived by his son Blair and wife Emily Whiting, their children: Abby, Malcolm and Lemmy; son Lane Whiting; son Logan and wife Rachel Whiting and their soon to be son Oliver Brent Whiting; and son Porter Whiting and fiancee Nicole Reese; his mother Birdie Whiting; sister Cheryl and husband Greg Storrs; brother Kim and wife Joni Whiting; brother Darl Whiting; brother Keith and wife Jennefer Whiting; and sister Jana and husband Eric Veibell. He is also survived by 16 nieces, nephews; and 22 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father LeRoy "Roy" Whiting; and both sets of grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 6, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa with a viewing from 9 to 10:15 AM prior to the services. Please remember the suggestions for keeping safe during the covid-19 situation....social distancing, etc. Burial will take place at 10 AM, Monday, June 8 in the Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 Hill Rd in Boise.
