Burrell Eugene Wallen, 67, of Fruitland, Idaho passed away at 1.AM June 11, 2017 at Wellsprings Rehab Center in Nampa, Idaho of complications from a stroke. His final wishes will be taken care of by Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 208-467-7300. At a later date his remains will be taken to Tahoe Mountain Rest Cemetery near Kooskia, ID where Military Honors will be given. He was born Byrl Jean Saunders to Perry Howard and Bessie True Saunders on May 22, 1950 at Grangeville, Idaho. Burrell was the youngest of seven children. He was adopted at the age of 7 by Ralph and Madge Wallen of Moscow, Idaho. Burrell married Kathy Mangum Aug. 6, 1982. Burrell was preceded in death by his parents; his adopted parents; two brothers Kenneth H. Saunders and George C. Saunders; and two sisters Vivian B. Saunders and Sabina S. Mitchell. He is survived by his wife Kathy; a son Tony Wallen; two daughters Eleanor Rolfe and Amy Mangum; and two sisters Virginia Inman and Ruth Bell. Burrell had 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Burrell served his electrical apprenticeship at Yanke Energy in Boise, Idaho and completed his courses as a journeyman electrician at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War after joining the Army in 1969, achieving the rank of specialist five.
