Carl Leroy Hiaring, 79, passed away in peace, December 13, 2016, at the Trinity Mission Health Center in Nampa. He was surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Evalyn and his son James Douglas Hiaring. He is survived by 6 beloved children: Lisa Anne Wilson (Lee), David, Carl (Sandy), Laura Adkins (Scott), Mark, and Susie Case (Floyd). Carl was blessed beyond measure with 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Carl was born April 18, 1937 in Nampa, to George and Fleta Goodwin Hiaring. He had a loving and caring heart that showed from a very young age. Growing up, Carl would work summers in North Idaho Silver Mines to help his mother, Fleta, raise him and two sisters, Joyce and Francis. He so cared about others that he even gave up a Football Scholarship to the University of Idaho after his senior year in High School to work and provide for his family. Carl met the love his life, Evalyn, and they were married May 24, 1958. Together, they raised 7 children. He would work multiple jobs, at times, to provide for his family and ensure they never went without. Carl loved sports, and one of his biggest thrills was watching, coaching, and volunteering at sporting events for his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. As many people that were blessed to call him dad or grandpa, even more we able to call him coach. Carl had a big heart and was loved by many. He will be forever remembered for all those lives he helped touch. It didn't matter if you called him Dad, Grandpa, friend, or just Carl, we are all truly blessed. A viewing will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 starting at 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of his life at 2:00 p.m. at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa (467-7300).
