Henderina Strikwerda Muir, 89, passed away peacefully August 4, 2015 in Caldwell, Idaho. "Renie" was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and spent most of her younger years in Brooks, Oregon until she married Marion Christensen. After being left with three children: Catherine (Starr), James Christensen, Kreta (Potter), which she raised single-handedly, she worked for Boise Cascade and later for Eugene School District and received several distinctions. She later married Elden Muir and lived in Oregon and Idaho. Today she is survived by her three children along with nine grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, all of which were the joy of her life! Renie also served faithfully in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) where she was given many opportunities to serve in the Relief Society presidency, secretary, and the Boise and Portland LDS Temples. She and Elden also spent two years as missionaries in Louisiana. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8 at the LDS Chapel, 3007 Sunnyridge Rd in Nampa followed by interment in the Meridian Cemetery.
