Obituary

LaVerna Mae DeWitt, 83, of Nampa, passed away on May 25, 2021 of natural causes. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 28 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel located at 83 N Midland Blvd. in Nampa, Idaho 83651. She was born in Cambridge, Nebraska on May 10, 1938. She graduated from Peyton High School in Colorado. In October 1959 she married C.L. (Roy) Brunmeier, and they had three children. They separated in 1973. She later married Buster Dewitt in April 1980. Early in her life she baked bread at the Albertsons in Caldwell. After receiving her business certification in 1975, she began working in the car license division at the department of motor vehicles in Nampa. While married to Buster they became co-owners of Dewitt Painting where they were contracted by Motel 6 to paint their Western region hotel chains. She enjoyed her poodles and antique glassware collecting. LaVerna is survived by her brother George and his wife Carolyn of Colorado; her three children: Becky Bennett and her husband Wayne, Brenda McKnight her husband Rod, Damon; her six grandchildren: Justin Bennett, Jerrid Bennett of Wyoming, Travis McKnight of Oregon, Brian McKnight of Idaho, David Brunmeier, Casey Brunmeier of Idaho; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Buster; her brother Jerry; granddaughter Jennifer; and her daughter in-law Shannon Brunmeier.
