Lorraine
Payne
Dec 28, 1929 — Jun 24, 2014
Lorraine Rose Payne passed away Tuesday June 24, 2014 with family at her side. She was born December 28, 1929 to August and Lydia Redinger in Streeter, North Dakota and as a young girl moved to Nampa, ID with her parents, brother LaVerne and sister Janice. She attended Nampa Schools and later furthered her education graduating from Mercy Hospitals School of Nursing in 1963. As a caring and compassionate person, she very much enjoyed her 32 year nursing career. She started out in the emergency room and pediatrics then completed her career after many years in the intensive care unit, retiring in 1995. She married James E Payne in 1951. They were married nearly 50 years when James passed away in 2001. They were blessed with two children, Joanne and James. In addition to her love of nursing, she was also a strong family gal, loving her family deeply, always wanting the best for them and greeting everyone with a smile and that girlish laugh of hers. She was a joy to be around. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her sister Janice and niece Debbie. "The Three Amigos" had many great adventures together and saw and did lots of things. She will be missed deeply by those whose life she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother LaVerne and daughter JoAnne. Left behind with broken hearts are her son Jim (Pam) Payne, sister Janice Walker, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
