Neil Walter Lindsey, 84, died of natural causes November 25, 2015 at his home in Nampa, ID in the loving arms of Carlene, his wife of 63 years. Neil was born in Spokane, WA April 28, 1931, the only child of Millie and Bill Lindsey and even though Neil called Nampa home for more than 60 years, like his father he was a Montana boy at heart. Neil graduated Troy high school in northwestern Montana in 1949 and the next year chose the Air Force over the Army because of the uniform. In 1952 he married Carlene McElroy, a Montana gal, in a double wedding with Carlene's sister Patty and her spouse Gary Bunday. Missing the horizons of the west from upstate New York, Neil and Carlene moved to Nampa in 1953 where they ran the French Cleaners for over 25 years. They were both active in the Jay-Cettes and Jaycee's for which Neil served as president. Neil worked for Bob Nichols Oil retiring in 1993 but continued to work part-time with good friends at the Gem Stop on Midland Blvd up until the day before his death. Generous of spirit despite living with deafness most of his later life he never met a stranger or a detective novel he did not like. Thanks Nampa library. He had few peers when it came to popular television, commanding the remotes with skill and nuance. Neil's love for his family (and dogs) was foremost but his passion for sports was next. He was a long-time member of Broadmore Country Club recording four holes-in-one, six husband-wife club championships with Carlene, and he was active in his entire families' paths to the "thrill of victory and agony of defeat." Neil was a devout Boise State Broncos super fan holding season tickets for many years and amassing an impressive collection of Bronco swag. Sports embodied values he lived by: commitment, shared responsibility and accomplishment, and most philosophically, always take care of the ball. Neil was preceded in death by daughter Kris Jensen. Neil is survived by his wife Carlene; son Bruce and his wife Marilee Keys; daughter Kim McCain and husband Stan; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and a loving extended family. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa. A public viewing will be held at Zeyer's on Thursday, December 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Nampa Salvation Army, 403 12th Ave S.
