Obituary

Nola Lucille Templeton Holloway, 88, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020 of natural causes in Meridian, Idaho. Nola was born June 8, 1932 in Rupert, Idaho to James Hugh Templeton and Bessie Lucille Morgan Templeton. She attended elementary school in Rupert, Idaho before moving to Pocatello, Idaho with her parents and younger brother Hugh Templeton. Nola attended Pocatello High School, but before her senior year contracted tuberculosis. Nola was admitted to the Idaho State Tuberculosis Hospital for one year. While there, she met the love of her life, Hubert Roland "Rod" Holloway; another patient at the hospital who had been there for three years prior to Nola arriving. Nola and Rod were married in Gooding, Idaho on June 15, 1953. Nola and Rod lived just off Maple Grove Road and Ustick Road in Boise, Idaho for many years. Later, they moved to downtown Meridian, Idaho so that their five children would be closer to their beloved Meridian High School. Nola was a convert to the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was sealed in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple to Rod with four of her children surrounding her. Her fifth child was born after the others were almost raised. She didn't know if this child was meant to keep her young or hasten her aging. Nola loved her family and was proud of their accomplishments. Nola was a meticulous person when it came to house cleaning, caring for herself, cooking, and crocheting. She was considered a master at crochet as she could look at an item and crochet it without a pattern. Nola crocheted lace around handkerchiefs before her hands became too sore from arthritis. She loved all flowers, but took pride in growing roses for many years. Nola is survived by her beloved children: James Chris Holloway (RuthAnn), Rhonda Jean Barker Porter (Terry), Lonnie Trent Holloway (Jenifer), Jerald Keith Holloway (Cheri), and LeAnn Denise Edwards (Junior). Nola has 28 grandchildren, and 59 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, June 16 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 17 at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4255 E. Fairview Ave in Meridian. Nola will be laid to rest next to Rod, her husband of 56 years. A celebration picnic will be held in Nola's honor at 1:30 pm following the graveside service at Storey Park, 205 E. Franklin Road, Meridian, Idaho 83642. We invite those in attendance at the graveside service as well as those who knew and loved Nola to join the family. Services are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel located in Nampa, Idaho. 208-467-7300
